Burduli Ousted at ITA Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Washington State University junior Ekaterina Burduli's run at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championship ended as she fell to fourth-seeded Caitlin Burke, 6-4, 6-4.

Burduli earned a spot on the qualifying draw, but could not escape the first round to enter the main draw. The top eight finishers in the qualifying draw are then placed into the main draw of 32. Burduli, ranked 47th nationally, fell in straight sets to No. 31 Burke of Wisconsin.

Burduli is scheduled to compete with the team as it travels to Boise, Idaho to take part in the Boise State Invitational. Tournament play begins Friday, Oct. 6 and concludes Sunday Oct. 8.
