Cal Racks Up Another Win At All-American Championships

TULSA, OK - Junior Pierre Mouillon earned another win in the qualifying tournament of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla. In the second round, Mouillon defeated Andreas Weber of Hawaii, 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-4.

With the victory, Mouillon now has four singles wins in the fall 2006 season. He will square off against Nick Rinks of Michigan State on Wednesday. If Mouillon can come away with another win, he will qualify for the main draw of the event, which starts on Oct. 5.

Doubles action began Tuesday at the championships. The Golden Bears had one team competing in the opening round. Mouillon and senior Daniel Sebescen gave the duo of Auburn's Robbert Lathouwers and Alex Schweizer a good fight, but were eliminated in round two, 9-8 (3). Mouillon and Sebescen had previously received a first-round bye.
