Tough Day for Huskies at ITA Championships

TULSA, Okla. -- Patrik Fischer (Bern, Switzerland) lost in second round action of the qualifying singles at the Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday. Fischer also teamed with Daniel Chu (Vancouver, B.C.) and lost in the first round of the qualifying doubles bracket.
Fischer, who defeated TCU's Chris Biro (7-6, 6-2) in the first round of singles action, fell to Mississippi State's Phillipe Frayssinoux 6-3, 6-2 in the second round. He took the court later at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center with Chu and fell 8-2 to Western Michigan's Tim Bradshaw and Brady Crosby.
Chu also lost earlier in the day in the qualifying singles consolation bracket, dropping a heartbreaker to Tulsa's Ricardo Soriano 7-6 (4), 3-6, 10-5 (match tie-breaker).
Alex Slovic (Pancevo, Serbia and Montenegro) is the only remaining Husky in the field for the ITA All-American Singles Championship draw, which begins on Oct. 5.
