Burduli's Run Ends at ITA Championships

Pacific Palisades, Calif. - Washington State University junior Ekaterina Burduli ended her run at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American Championships as she fell to No. 32 Alexandra Hirsch of Wake Forest, 6-2, 6-3, in a consolation match.
Burduli's trip to the ITA Championships finished with two victories over ranked opponents and a trip to the quarterfinals in the consolation round.
After an opening qualifying round lost to No. 31 Caitlin Burke of Wisconsin, Burduli bounced back in consolation play to down No. 77 Petra Dizdar of Texas and No. 74 Georgia Tech's Taryn Rudman. She finished with a 2-2 tournament record, giving her a 6-2 record this season.
Burduli now travels to Boise, Idaho to meet with the team as it prepares for the Boise State Invitational. The teams competing in the tournament include New Mexico, Oregon and Boise State. Play begins Friday, Oct. 6.
