Mouillon Falls in Semifinals of Consolation Tournament
Oct. 7, 2006
TULSA, OK - Junior Pierre Mouillon got his sixth win in the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships before losing in the semifinals at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Saturday.
The transfer from Mississippi State got the day off to a good start with a victory over Steven Moneke of Ohio State, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. His ride in the championships ended later in the day when he fell to Wake Forest's Todd Paul, 6-4, 6-2.
Despite getting eliminated, Mouillon racked up multiple wins and some momentum that will carry over into the rest of the fall campaign. Saturday's victory was the eighth singles win for Mouillon during the fall season. Before the championships, he won two matches in the Napa Valley Classic last month.
The rest of the Golden Bears are competing in the Bronco Classic this weekend. The classic started yesterday and continues through Sunday.
