No. 16 Cal Upsets No. 9 Washington, 2-0

SEATLE, Wash. - Andrew Jacobson hit a 35-yard shot and Javier Ayala-Hil scored from 10 yards to give sixteenth-ranked California a 2-0 upset of ninth-ranked Washington, 2-0, on Sunday at Husky Soccer Stadium. The victory gives the Golden Bears an 8-3-1 record (3-1-0 Pac-10) and a sweep of its two-game Pac-10 Conference trek to the Pacific Northwest. Washington falls to 8-4-0 (1-4-0).

Cal junior goalkeeper Justin Myers made five saves to shut out the Huskies and improve his record to 6-1-0.

The Bears next take on the same two teams they just played, hosting Oregon State at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, and Washington at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, at Edwards Stadium.
