Stanford's Kristin Richards Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- STANFORD outside hitter Kristin Richards has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 2 - 8, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Richards, a senior from Orem, Utah, led No. 6 Stanford to a 3-0 sweep over No. 7 California over the weekend, pushing the Cardinal's record to 13-2 overall and 4-1 in the Pac-10.
On Friday, Richards collected 13 kills without recording a single error against the Bears, giving her a season-high .565 hitting percentage. In addition, she went on to add six digs, an ace, and tallied three blocks to hold Cal to a .143 hitting percentage, tying their lowest of the season.This is the second weekly honor for Richards, and Stanford's 57th Pac-10 Player of the Week all-time.
