CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Washington State women's soccer squad tallied its second conference victory Friday as the Cougars defeated Oregon State (8-4-2, 1-2-0) 1-0 at Lorenz Field. WSU moves to 7-4-2 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play.

The lone goal of the match came at the 52:00 minute mark as Caeli Abeyta poked in a ball deflected by OSU keeper Melissa Onstad. The goal marks the first tally of Abyeta's WSU career and makes her the 10th different Cougar to record a goal in 2006. Carly Dobratz earned an assist on the play, her fifth of the season.

Washington State edged the Beavers in the shot count 12-11 with Elysse Van Leer pacing the Cougar attack with three. WSU keeper Brynn Bemis made five stops in the match, recording her second consecutive shutout to bring her season total to three.

The Cougars continue conference play as they face Oregon Sunday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m.
