Stanford Women Named Golfweek's Team Of The Week

Orlando, Fla. - After capturing the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational on Oct. 9-11, the Stanford Women's Golf Team was named the Golfweek Team of the Week. Taking over the lead in the second round, the Cardinal captured the 15-team tournament with a three-round total of 896 (303-297-296), surpassing eight Pac-10 opponents. The win was Stanford's first of the season and its first since the 2004 season.
Sophomore Mari Chun was also named Golfweek's Women's Player of the Week for her performance at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational. Chun became the frontrunner after the first round when she posted a career-best 4-under 68 at the Sahalee Country Club. She remained in the lead through three rounds, posting a 215 for the tournament (68-72-75) to finish two shots in front of New Mexico's Jodi Ewart (71-75-71--217).
The Cardinal now hosts the Stanford Intercollegiate this Friday through Sunday on the Stanford Golf Course.
