Goodman, Yocum Lead Cal in First Round of Stanford Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. - Sophomore Allison Goodman and Shannon Yocum led California Friday in the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course. Each golfer shot a three-over 74 to grab a share of 29th place with two rounds to play.
As a team, Cal carded a 311 on the par-71, 5,985-yard course to sit in 15th place. No. 12 Arizona leads the tournament at seven-under 277, while top-ranked Georgia is second at 284, and sixth-ranked Stanford, the tournament host, is third at 286.
Goodman finished the back nine at even par today, while Yocum was at even par through the front nine. Senior Mika Takayama is tied for 54th at 78, and freshman Christina Frick tallied the Bears' final counting score (85, 75th place). Frick logged eight straight pars to start the tournament before struggling in the afternoon.
Georgia's Whitney Wade and Arizona's Alison Walshe lead the individual race at four-under 67, and Arizona's Adriana Zwanck is third at 68.
Cal tees off the second round Saturday at 10:10 a.m. from the 10th hole.
