Trojans To Participate In Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge

The USC men's golf team, currently ranked No. 1 by Golfweek.com and featuring a pair of Top 10 rated players, will participate in the 2006 Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge, Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 23-24) at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore.
The Trojans have been led by true freshman Jamie Lovemark in the early part of the fall schedule. Rated No. 1 by Golfweek.com, Lovemark was third in USC's opening tournament at the Inverness Intercollegiate and took 13th earlier this week at The Prestige at PGA West. Lovemark's final round of 66 at The Prestige was among USC's lowest in the last three years.
Sophomore teammate Tom Glissmeyer is ranked No. 7 after a fifth-place at the Inverness Intercollegiate.
Senior Jordan Nasser has posted a pair of top 30 finishes, a tie for 29th in the opener and a tie for 27th earlier this week. Four of his six rounds have been 74 or lower.
Freshman Rory Hie tied for 20th at the Inverness and was tied for 48th at The Prestige. Senior Joshua Wooding turned in two strong rounds earlier this week at The Prestige and looks for his first complete tournament this season in Oregon next week.
Freshman Bo DeHuff is also scheduled to compete for the Trojans.
Each conference will be represented by six teams. No. 1 USC, No. 12 UCLA, No. 28 Washington, Oregon, Oregon State and No. 9 Stanford square off with No. 43 Illinois, Indiana, No. 36 Michigan State, No. 30 Minnesota, No. 41 Northwestern and No. 42 Wisconsin.
Play will start with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Monday, commencing 36 holes. Tuesday's shotgun start for 18 holes is also set for 8 a.m.
