Softball Tops Eastern Arizona and Pima College at Phoenix College Tournament

TEMPE, Ariz. - Raking in 19 runs to their opponents five, the Sun Devil Softball squad rolled on the in Phoenix College Tournament Saturday as they topped Eastern Arizona 7-5 and Pima College 12-0. Action continues tomorrow at 1 and 3 p.m. at ASU's Farrington Stadium. Admission is free.

In the first game, Eastern Arizona took ASU to a full seven innings with ASU connecting for 10 hits, which were highlighted by Kaitlin Cochran's 3 for 3 (with one triple) performance and Kaycee Gamez's two hits.

In game two, Katie Burkhart took the mound for ASU to shut down the Lady Aztecs as she struck out 13 on her way to a one-hitter. Mindy Cowles was 3 for 4 with a home run with Michelle Smith, Rhiannon Baca and Kaitlin Cochran all contributing two hits apiece.
