Surapol Continues Impressive Run at ITA Regionals

Oct. 22, 2006

Malibu, Calif. - UCLA men's tennis player Chris Surapol took home one title on Sunday and has the chance to add another on Monday, as the Bruin senior is in the singles final at the Wilson/ITA West Regionals at Pepperdine University.

Surapol began the day by teaming with Benjamin Kohlloeffel to capture the doubles title, as the duo posted an 8-4 victory over teammates Mathieu Dehaine and Jeremy Drean.

Not long after that match ended, Surapol was on the court again, this time trying to advance to Monday's singles final. He did just that, posting a 6-4, 6-4 victory over USC's Jamil Al-Agba in the semifinals. Surapol's opponent on Monday will be Pepperdine's Andre Begemann, who was a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 winner over San Diego State's Christen Groh.

Monday's final will begin at 1:00 p.m.
