Bears Advance to Finals of Doubles Tournament at ITA Northwest Regional

STANFORD - The California doubles team of senior Daniel Sebescen and junior Pierre Mouillon advanced to the finals of the doubles tournament in the ITA Northwest Regional Monday at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium on the Stanford campus. They will meet the tandem of Stan Morrissey and Blake Muller of Stanford in the finals on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The No. 2 seed Mouillon and Sebescen made it to the finals after defeating Cal Poly's Matt Baca and Kyle Roybal in the semifinals, 8-5.
In singles, the Golden Bears weren't as successful as freshman KJ Stewart fell in the quarterfinals and Mouillon lost in the semifinals. The No. 2 seed Mouillon lost to the No. 4 seed Jakub Cech of Fresno State, 7-5, 7-6(4). Stewart was defeated by No. 1 seed Alex Slovic of Washington, 6-7(5);7-6(9);6-2.
In his quarterfinal match, Mouillon beat Charles Irie of Fresno State, 6-1; 6-4.
