No. 5 USC Bounces Back With Convincing 3-0 Sweep At Washington State

LOS ANGELES -- After a 3-1 loss last night at No. 6 Washington, the No. 5 USC Women of Troy responded Friday with a convincing 3-0 sweep (30-24, 30-18, 30-15) at Washington State in Pullman, Wash. USC hit .383 on the evening and finished game three with a .444 clip to improve to 18-3 overall and 8-3 in Pac-10 play.
Washington State falls to 14-11 on the season and 2-9 in conference.
All-America candidate Asia Kaczor bounced back from a difficult night with a team-high 15 kills and four block assists for a .353 performance while Diane Copenhagen had 14 kills against only two errors for a monstrous .522 match.
Senior All-America libero Debora Seilhamer had 28 digs in the match, two shy of her career mark for most digs in a three-game match, while junior Katelyn Bishop had a season-high 10 kills in the middle with six total blocks (one solo, five assisted).
Seilhamer led the way in game three, serving USC to a 10-0 run to start the game before closing out the sweep.
Freshman Taylor Carico had 47 kills for the Women of Troy, posting five kills with no errors and 10 digs.
Kelly Rosin led the Cougars with 17 kills.
USC returns to Galen Center next weekend for two Pac-10 matches. The Women of Troy hosts Arizona in a match on Friday (Nov. 3) at 7 p.m. with the tape-delayed broadcast on Fox Sports Net before taking on Arizona State on Saturday (Nov. 4) at 6 p.m.
