Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Suffer Losses at Indiana (No. 12 Men, No. 19 Women)

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -
Rounding out a difficult weekend of dual meets in the state of Indiana, Arizona State University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams both suffered losses to Indiana University Saturday afternoon. The Sun Devil men (1-2) were bested by the No. 12 Hooisers 156-132, while ASU's women (2-1) lost for the first time in 2006, falling to No. 19 Indiana by a score of 155-134.
Junior Lucas Azevedo once again provided an impressive performance for ASU, recording victories in the 500 free (4:32.53) and the 1000 free (9:24.27). Junior CJ Nuess also helped the Sun Devils remain competitive against the Hoosiers, posting a top finish in the 400 IM (3:58.03).
The Sun Devils' performance was boosted with the day's top 200 freestyle relay finish, as the team completed in 1:24.50.
Cvitkovic (100 back), sophomore Gal Nevo (500 free) and Nuess (200 breast) also scored second-place finishes for the Sun Devils.
Redshirt freshman diver Micky Benedetti topped the field in the 3m springboard (410.92) and placed second in the 1m springboard.
Andrew and junior Sarah Fischer provided scoring efforts for ASU with second-place finishes in the 100 back and 500 free, respectively.
The Sun Devils also defeated
ASU received additional scoring efforts by placing three of the top four times in the 100 breast, 200 fly and 100 free. Freshmen Ashley Evans and Sara McDaniel, and senior Christine Creek finished second through fourth in the 100 breast, as did freshman Ashton Aubry, senior Jill Kripps and junior Ellis Schieman in the 200 fly, as well as Beckberger, junior Lindsey Brown and freshman Jess Perazzo in the 100 free.
Evans and Creek both scored in the 400 IM, as did Perazzo and senior Abra Armour in the 50 free, along with Aubry in the 100 fly.
Senior diver Cassidy Farwell added to ASU's overall score, placing third in the 3m springboard.
