Two Bruins Named to Academic All-District Football Team

UCLA junior offensive guard Chris Joseph and redshirt sophomore defensive end Kenneth Lombard have been selected to the ESPN The Magazine first-team Academic All-District football team as selected by the membership of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced today.
Joseph, who has a 3.96 grade point average in a Geography major, has started all nine games for UCLA at weak guard. He was also selected first-team Academic All-District VIII in 2005.
Lombard, who has posted a 3.48 gpa in a History major, has appeared in all nine games and made two starts at defensive end. He has 13 tackles on the season, one fumble recovery and a tackle for loss. The Bruin defense is ranked 15th in nation against the run. He was named a first-team Academic All-Pac-10 selection in 2005.
Both student-athletes will now appear on the National Ballot with a chance to earn ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America football honors. The national team will be announced on Nov. 30.
