UCLA Men's Cross Country Team Finishes 6th at NCAA Regionals

The UCLA men's cross country team placed 6th at the NCAA West Regional Championship in Gresham, Ore., on Saturday at Blue Lake Park.

Oregon won the Regional Championship with 69 points, followed by Stanford with 88 points, both earning the two automatic bids to the NCAA Championships.

Portland was third with 123 points followed by Washington with 139 points, Arizona with 156 points and the Bruins with 167 points.

Junior Kyle Shackleton was the Bruins' top individual finisher, placing 16th with a time of 30:37.83.

Stanford's Neftalem Araia was the top individual finisher, crossing the line in a time of 30:05.88.

Other Bruin finishes include: 26. Laef Barnes (31:07.29), 33. Mike Haddan (31:14.62), 41. Drew Shackleton (31:33.17), 52. Marlon Patterson (31:49.30), 78. Jake Matthews (32:34.37) and 86. Alex Crabill (32:47.93).
