Nov. 13, 2006

Jooyoung (Glory) Yang (Linfield Christian, Murrieta, Calif.), one of the nation's top girls junior golfers has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend UCLA, the athletic department announced Monday.

Yang, ranked 15th by GolfWeek among U.S. junior girls, is considered one of the top junior players in the class of 2007. She earned All-America honors last month from the American Junior Golf Assn.

'Glory has enjoyed an impressive year,' said Head Coach Carrie Forsyth. 'She is a very well-rounded player, who will accomplish great things in college.'

Yang finished second at the prestigious PING Invitational in October. In July, she won the Fidelity Investments Junior at Trump National. Since February, she has finished in the Top 20 in 12 of 13 AJGA tournaments with nine Top 10 finishes.
