COUGARS HOSTS FINAL HOME VOLLEYBALL MATCHES: The Washington State volleyball team, 15-13 on the season, 3-11 in Pacific-10 Conference competition, is home in Bohler Gym this week to host Arizona State (13-13, 5-10 Thursday night, and Arizona (12-15, 3-12) Friday night...WSU will fete the Cougar seniors Friday night before the 6:30 p.m. match against Kelly Rosin and April Ross will be honored along with redshirt junior Carly Hayashikawa who is graduating in December, and manager Lisa Young...Friday night's contest is part of a triple-header of Cougar sports to start Apple Cup weekend - women's basketball takes on Sacramento State in Beasley Coliseum at 4:30 p.m. and the men's basketball team has their home opener at 8:30 p.m. against Texas-San Antonio, back in the Coliseum.

COUGAR COACHING STAFF: Brian Heffernan returns for his third season at WSU (29-61)...assistant coaches are Jody Garry (third year) and Ken Ko (second year)...Kirby Garry is the coordinator of volleyball operations.

LAST WEEK: The Cougars lost to the defending national champions and No. 4 Washington Friday night in Pullman, 30-17, 30-12, 30-23...Brittany Johnson led the Cougs with nine kills while Cassie Robbins had five blocks and Kelly Hyder had 15 digs...setter Corina Beyer had 28 assists and the Cougars were held to no service aces...UW hit .331 for the match and kept the Cougars at .035...Dawgs were led by the 16 kills from both Stevie Mussie and Christal Morrison, and Courtney Thompson's 44 assist.
