Sabatino Named Associate Commissioner of Business and Finance

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The Pacific-10 Conference has named Scott Sabatino Associate Commissioner of Business and Finance, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
A native of Waltham, Massachusetts, Sabatino most recently served as the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer for the ECHL in Princeton, N.J. He oversaw the business operations for the coast-to-coast league which has grown to 25 teams in 16 states and British Columbia after beginning in 1988-89 with five teams in three states. The Premier `AA' Hockey League, the ECHL is the primary development league for both the American Hockey League and the National Hockey League.
Further, Sabatino worked closely with team ownership and management on risk management programs, monitoring and analysis of team financial operations, league-wide scheduling, and other league programs.
Sabatino earned his undergraduate credentials from Northeastern University in Boston, where he received a B.S. in business administration, with concentration in accounting. A certified public accountant, he obtained a master's degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.
Sabatino and his wife, Elaine, are in the process of relocating to California.
