Henry, Horton, Folk Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Running back Chris Henry and kicker Nick Folk of Arizona and safety Chris Horton of UCLA have been named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week.

Henry and Folk played major roles in Arizona's 37-10 upset road win at Oregon. Henry, a junior from Stockton, Calif., rushed 29 times for a career-high 191 yards (6.6-yard average) and two touchdowns of 15 and 61 yards. In addition, he had a 21-yard touchdown reception for 212 all-purpose yards to go with three touchdowns. The Arizona offense rushed for 230 yards and played turnover-free ball.

Folk, a senior from Sherman Oaks, Calif., was perfect on three field goal attempts, connecting from 29, 28 and 45 yards, and hit all four of his PAT attempts. In addition, he averaged 40.7 yards on six punts with a long of 52 yards and four of the six downed inside the Oregon 20-yard line. It marks the second player of the week honor for Folk this season, having previously been named following Arizona's season-opening win against BYU.

Horton, a junior from New Orleans, La., led UCLA's defensive effort in the Bruins' 24-12 road win at Arizona State. Horton had a game- and career-high 12 tackles, 10 of them solo. The UCLA defense limited Arizona State to no touchdowns, 264 yards total offense, just 4-of-17 on third-down conversion attempts and posted five quarterback sacks for minus-32 yards.

Others nominated for offensive player of the week honors were quarterback Carl Bonnell of Washington, tailbacks Yvenson Bernard of Oregon State and C.J. Gable of USC and flanker Brandon Breazell of UCLA. Also nominated on defense were linebackers Spencer Larsen of Arizona and Desmond Bishop of California, end Lawrence Jackson of USC and backs Coye Francies of Oregon State and C.J. Wallace of Washington. Kick returner Marlon Wood of Washington and kickers Alexis Serna of Oregon State, David Buehler of USC and Jesse Ainsworth of Arizona State were nominated for special teams play.
