Seven Women of Troy Earn Pac-10 All-Academic Honors

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - The USC women's soccer team has landed seven players on the Pac-10's All-Academic teams for the 2006-07 season. Seniors Tracy Lansing and Lindsay Parker have earned their second straight honor on the All-Academic First Team, and five other Women of Troy have earned honorable mention for their strong academics at USC.

A senior forward with a 3.85 GPA, majoring in communications, Tracy Lansing also was named to the CoSIDA Academic Third Team All-American for District 8. Lansing also was a Pac-10 All-Academic first teamer as a junior, and was a second team honoree as a sophomore, rounding out a successful academic and athletic career for the forward.

Senior defender Lindsay Parker also has boasted a stellar career as a student-athlete at USC. The communications major holds the highest GPA on the team with a 3.92. Parker, too, was a Pac-10 All-Academic first team selection as a junior, and was on the second team as a sophomore.

Receiving Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention this season are five sophomores who hold GPAs above a 3.0. This year's Trojan honorees are defender Janessa Currier (health promotion and disease prevention), midfielder Kelley Finch (communications), forward Nini Loucks (communications), midfielder Ashley Nick (undeclared) and midfielder Stacey Strong (undeclared).
