Beyer & Hyder Receive Pac-10 Volleyball Recognition

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Washington State volleyball players Corina Beyer and Kelly Hyder were named to the 2006 Pacific-10 Conference All-Freshman honorable mention team, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Monday.

Beyer, the Cougars starting setter from Bayview, Idaho, accumulated 1,175 assists this season which is ninth-best in WSU volleyball's career standings. She had an 11.87 assists per game average which was sixth-best in the conference this season.

Hyder, a libero from Huntington Beach, Calif., set the school record for digs in a single season with 565. Hyder's 5.33 digs per game average was fifth-best in the conference this year and she had double-figure digs in all 31 matches she played, missing one match because of a concussion.
