UCLA's Darren Collison Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA guard Darren Collison has been named the U.S. BankPacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for November 20-26, CommissionerTom Hansen announced today.
Collison, a sophomore from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., averaged 13.3 points, 7.0 assists and2.7 steals in leading the Bruins to the EA Sports Maui Invitational title. He was named MVP ofthe Invitational after shooting 12-of-20 (.600) from the field, 4-of-9 (.444) from three-pointrange, and 12-of-16 (.750) from the free throw line. The point guard was vital in guiding theBruins to 52.8 percent shooting from the field for the three games. In the opening game vs.Chaminade, he scored 15 points, dished out seven assists and grabbed five steals. In the semi-final win over No. 20 Kentucky, he scored 10 points, dished out another seven assists andgrabbed three steals. In the championship game win over No. 19 Georgia Tech, Collison scored15 points, hitting 10-of-12 from the the free throw line, and passed out seven assists.
This is the first weekly honor for Collison and UCLA's 43rd Player of the Week all-time.
