Swimming to Host 58th Annual Husky Invitational

SEATTLE- The Washington swimming teams will host the 58th Annual Husky Invitational November 30-December 3 at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.
The meet will include hundreds of swimmers representing several different states or provinces, including Pac-10 rival Oregon State on the women's side and Pac-10 powerhouse California on the men's side. The meet will also feature numerous collegiate programs from the Northwest headlined by the University of Puget Sound, Willamette and Whitworth.
Former NCAA champion in the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, Henrique 'Ricky' Barbosa is competing, as is former Auburn standout sprinter George Bovell. Both are coached by Mike Bottom at CAL Aquatics.
Former Olympian Tom Jager, coach of Idaho, will be competing in the 25 freestyle.The 25 free looks to be a shootout with some of the best sprinters in the country, and will likely be the most exciting event of the meet.
UW recruits Ashley Daly and Emily Jennings will be competing against the Huskies.
The meet will be formatted like the NCAA Championships with the 1000 freestyle event taking place on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. Competition over the next three days will include the preliminary races at 9:30 a.m. Event finals will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Team Championships will be awarded in college and club divisions as well as Individual High Point Awards for the top male and female swimmer.
