No. 9 USC At Texas Invitational

The 2006-2007 women's swimming team, ranked No. 9 in the latest CollegeSwimming.com Top 25, visits the Lone Star state to race in the 2006 Texas Invitational Thursday through Saturday (Nov. 30-Dec. 2) at the Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center at the University of Texas in Austin.
Prelims begin at 10 a.m each day with finals 6 p.m. (CST).
In addition to USC and No. 11 host Texas, other teams competing include No. 1 Stanford, No. 6 Florida, No. 14 UCLA, No. 18 Wisconsin, No. 24 Arizona State, UNLV, Wyoming, TCU, UC Santa Barbara, Hawaii and Washington State.
In its last dual-meet action, the women's team defeated Arizona State on Nov. 11, but fell to Arizona on Nov. 10. USC opened the season with non-conference dual meet wins on Oct. 14 against Cal State Northridge and Oregon State.
USC, which finished sixth at the NCAA Championships last season and fourth in the Pac-10, returns four All-Americans in defending NCAA 200-yard breaststroke champion Rebecca Soni, 2006 NCAA finalists Rhi Jeffrey and Hayley McGregory and relay All-American Kristen Lahey.
A host of other swimmers who competed for USC at the 2006 NCAA Championships return, led by Keller, the 2004 NCAA champion in the mile. Sophomores Rachael Waller, Katy Houston and McIntyre, junior Emily Goetsch, senior Kristina Sieper and junior diver Kim Popp are also back with NCAA Championship experience.
The women's team's biggest loss is Blythe Hartley, the top diver in USC history and one of the best ever in the NCAA. She was routinely among the top scorers in every meet in which she competed.
