Nov. 30, 2006

BERKELEY, Calif. - California junior defender Courtney Hooker has been named second-team NSCAA All-West Region, marking the third straight year she has received all-region honors from the NSCAA.

Hooker started all 22 games for the Golden Bears in 2006, helping her team record a 0.69 goals-against average and 12 shutouts. The Woodland Hills, Calif., product also posted an assist in Cal's first-round NCAA Tournament win over Auburn.

Earlier this month, Hooker was named second-team All-Pac-10. Last season, she earned a spot on the second-team NSCAA All-West Region squad, and as a freshman, she was chosen to the third team.

Cal finished the 2006 season with a 12-5-5 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
