Men's Basketball to Compete in 2007 Great Alaska Shootout

PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University Men's Basketball team has been selected to participate in the 2007 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout as announced by the University of Alaska Anchorage, Thursday. The 30th annual tournament is scheduled for Nov. 20-24 at Anchorage's Sullivan Arena.

The Cougars, who have not been to the tournament since 1981, will join 2006 NIT Tip-Off champion Butler, Gonzaga, Liberty, Michigan, Texas Tech, Western Kentucky and host UAA.

Washington State went 1-2 in its previous trip to the Shootout. The Cougars defeated host Alaska-Anchorage in the opening game before going on to drop their next two match-ups versus Southwestern Louisiana and Iona.
