Dec. 14, 2006

Stanford, Calif. - Three Cardinal women's soccer players were named to one of the Soccer Buzz All-America Teams as announced by the magazine yesterday. Rachel Buehler was listed among the top four defenders in the nation, earning a spot on the First Team. Freshmen Kelley O'Hara and Kristin Stannard both earned Freshman All-America honors with spots on the Second Team.

Buehler, a redshirt junior, led one of the best defensive units in the nation in 2006, helping the team to 15 shutouts and a .55 goals-against average. The honor is the first of her career, and the first since Nicole Barnhart's First Team selection in 2004.

O'Hara and Stannard led the fivesome of freshmen that jumpstarted the Cardinal offense in 2006, with nearly half of the Cardinal goals. O'Hara led the team with 20 points on the year, while Stannard contributed 10.
