U.S. Under-20s Defeat Canada, 2-0

Dec. 20, 2006

UCLA soccer players Sal Zizzo, Brian Perk and Tony Beltran led the U.S. Under-20 National Team to a 2-0 victory over Canada on Wednesday afternoon in Bradenton, Fla.

Just four minutes after Rodrigo Hidalgo gave the U.S. a 1-0 lead, Zizzo doubled the score with a 26th minute goal off an assist by Mike Grella. Perk started in goal and shut out the Canadians before being relieved by Chris Seitz at halftime. Beltran also started for the U.S. and contributed to the shutout.

The U-20s will have one more chance to impress head coach Thomas Rongen during this camp with a second intrasquad scrimmage set for Dec. 22 before the camp concludes the following day.
