Arizona's Albert Subirats Named Pac-10 Men's Swimmer of the Month

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - ARIZONA's Albert Subirats has been named Pac-10 Men's Swimmer of the Month for December, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Subirats, from Valencia, Venezuela, won four individual events after posting an Arizona school record in both the 100 -backstroke(45.9) and the 100-fly (45.0) at the 2006 Texas Invite, Nov. 30 - Dec.2 in Austin, Texas.
The junior also won the 100-free after posting an automatic qualifying time of 45.52, one of the fastest times in the country, and went on to win the 50-free with a time of 19.5. In addition to his individual titles, Subirats swam on both first-place medley relay races at the Texas Invite.
This is the first monthly honor for Subirats and Arizona's first Swimmer of the Month honor all-time.
