#16 Men's Track & Field Opens Up Indoor Season on Friday in Albuquerque, NM

The No. 16-ranked UCLA men's track and field team will open up the indoor season this Friday at the Modrall Sperling Invitational in Albuquerque, NM. The meet features six top-25 teams, 36 nationally ranked athletes and eight ranked relay teams among the field of the two-day scored competition at the Convention Center. The meet gets underway on Friday at 5:00 pm (PST) and resumes at 9:00 am (PST) on Saturday.
The men's field features No. 6 Baylor, No. 13 UTEP and No. 13 Texas A&M, along with the 16th-ranked Bruins.
Twenty men listed among Trackwire's Dandy Dozen event power rankings are scheduled to compete on Friday and Saturday, including 11 in the sprint events. The nation's top-3 4x400-meter relay teams (Baylor, LSU and Texas A&M), along with the 11th-ranked BYU squad, will also go head-to-head in Saturday's final event.
Only a portion of the team will compete this weekend, as the sprinters, hurdlers and throwers are slated to compete. The pole vaulters will be in Reno, NV for the pole vault summit, while the jumpers will not open up this weekend.
