Swimming Falls To Wyoming

Laramie, Wy.-- The University of Washington swimming teams dropped a pair of dual meets to Wyoming Thursday with the men falling 144-91 and the women losing 140-97. The loss dips the UW men to 0-3 on the season, while the women fall to 1-3.
Sophomore Scott Spansail led the men's team with two of Washington's four victories, winning the 500 (4:43.34) and 1000 freestyle events (9:57.13). The UW men also received victories from Taylor Brugh in the 200 backstroke (1:54.61) and the 400 freestyle relay team (3:13.27) comprised of Bret Lundgaard, Niko Micin, Jared Osborne and Brenton Dowdy.
The Husky women won five events on the night, including victories from Kim Jasmer in the 200 freestyle (1:54.57), Rachel Seely in the 50 freestyle (24.72), Maggie Bever in the 200 IM (2:11.43), Jennifer Gong in the 200 backstroke (2:10.96) and Jessica Buchanan in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.44).
Washington doesn't have much time to rest as the it flies to Colorado to take on Denver in dual meet action Friday at 2 p.m.
