Cardinal Continues Indoor Action at Hampton Inn Classic

Boise, Idaho - The Cardinal track and field squad continued indoor competition today, winning seven events at the Hampton Inn Classic at Jacksons Indoor Track in Boise, Idaho.
On the men's side, junior Graeme Hoste highlighted the day with a 17-7 (5.36m) pole vault, good for an NCAA provisional mark and a first place finish. In the long jump, junior Josh Hustedt earned a top finish with a 23-6 (7.16m) mark, while All-American Michael Robertson recorded a top mark in the weight throw of 56-2.5 (17.13m).
The 4 x 400 meter relay squad, which featured Elliot Luscombe along with newcomers Zach Chandy, Justin Reed and Durell Coleman, rounded out the first place finishes for the Cardinal men, recording a time of 3:16.34.
On the women's side, a trio of Cardinal athletes claimed top marks. In the 60 meter dash, senior Janice Davis recorded a 7.49 in the final to place first. The five-time All-American was followed by teammate Jakki Bailey, who finished second in the event with a time of 7.50. Sophomore Lauren Stewart posted the day's top mark in the high jump, recording a 5-8 (1.73m) mark. Junior Melissa Yunghans posted her second top finish of the season with a season-best 48-1.25 (14.66m) mark.
The Cardinal returns to action next Saturday and Sunday at the UW Invitational in Seattle, Wash.
