Courtney Thompson Repeats As National Setter Of The Year

SEATTLE-- University of Washington senior Courtney Thompson has been selected as the CVU.com (Collegiate Volleyball Update) National Setter of the Year for the second straight season.
Thompson once again finished as the top setter in the country, averaging 14.50 assists per game to finish her collegiate career as the all-time NCAA record holder with 14.56 apg. She also set the Pac-10 record with 6,552 career assists, which ranks fourth on the NCAA all-time list.
Thompson saved her best season for last with 1,711 total assists, setting the UW single-season record. Her yearly assist averages rank one-through-four on the school's all-time list.
Under Thompson's direction, Washington finished the season ranked eighth nationally in team hitting percentage (.281) and 10th in total kills per game (16.92).
She also led Washington to three consecutive NCAA semifinal appearances and the 2005 NCAA National Championship.
