TEMPE, Ariz. - Nearly 90 members of the Arizona State University track and field program joined forces with the Make A Difference organization of Phoenix to participate in the MLK Maryvale Curb Appeal Project that was held Saturday, January 13, in the Maryvale community. The Sun Devils, represented by 80 student-athletes and eight staff members, worked together to repaint five homes and landscape one other home.

The Make A Difference organization had over 250 volunteers participating in service projects throughout the Valley that morning as a way to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. For the Curb Appeal Project, the Sun Devils met at Marivue Park at 7:45 a.m. before enjoying breakfast and a kick-off celebration with special guest speakers at 8 a.m. Then, between 8:45 a.m. and noon, the team split into groups that began their painting and landscaping projects for the day.
