Freshman Jamie Lovemark Qualifies For Buick Invitational

Jan. 23, 2007

USC freshman Jamie Lovemark fired a 67 at the Buick Invitational Qualifying on Monday (Jan. 22) at the El Camino C.C., in Oceanside, Calif., to qualify as an amateur for the Buick Invitational this Thursday through Sunday (Jan. 25-28).

Lovemark, who qualified for the Western Open last summer and tied for 54th, tied for third with his 5-under-par effort to join three others who qualified for the Buick out of the 57-man qualifying field at El Camino. Lovemark shot 66 Jan. 19 to advance through a prequalifier for the Monday qualifier.

The Buick Invitational will be Jamie Lovemark's second pro tournament.

Lovemark, who posted five birdies without any bogeys, will join former Trojan Kevin Stadler in the four-day tournament at Torrey Pines.

Lovemark, who finished the fall season No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, posted three top three finishes in the fall and fired five sub-70 rounds.
