Men's Golf Tees of Spring Season

Tempe, Ariz. - The Arizona State men's golf team tees off their spring season when they travel down-state to Tucson, Ariz. to compete in the 2007 PING-Arizona Intercollegiate Jan. 29-30. The 54-hole tournament, held at the par-71, 6,900-yard Arizona National Golf Club, will take place over two days, with 36 holes played Monday and 18 holes played on Tuesday.
The field for the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate includes: Arizona (Host), Arizona State, BYU, California, California-Irvine, East Tennessee State, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oregon, Pepperdine, Texas-El Paso, Tennessee, and UNLV.
The line-up for Arizona State features: senior All-American Niklas Lemke, sophomore All-American Benjamin Alvarado Holley, Knut Borsheim, freshman Tristan Bierenbroodspot, and senior Fredrik Andersson
The Sun Devils enter the spring season ranked 25th in the nation according to Golfweek.com. In the fall, ASU finished in second place at the Topy Cup in Tokyo, Japan, their highest finish of the season. The Sun Devils went on to finish in the top ten in their next two tournaments, placing seventh at the Illini Invitational and sixth at the NCAA Ping Preview. Arizona State finished their fall campaign at the Callaway Invitational in which they fell to UNLV in the second round of the consolation bracket in match-play.
Additionally, senior Niklas Lemke won his first collegiate tournament this fall at the Illini Invitational. Lemke followed up his victory in Chicago, tying for third place at the NCAA Ping Preview. Lemke enters the spring season ranked fourth nationally according to Golfweek.com.
