SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Stanford ended the first half on a 10-0 run, Candice Wiggins scored 12 of her 21 points during a 22-0 burst to open the second half and the eighth-ranked Cardinal beat UC Santa Barbara 84-59 Thursday night.

Brooke Smith added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Stanford (19-3), which shot 62.5 percent in the second half and outrebounded the smaller Gauchos 44-25 while extending the nation's third-longest win streak to 17 games.

Stanford had a 50-18 advantage on points in the paint.

Jenna Green led Santa Barbara (11-10) with 10 points.

Jillian Harmon capped Stanford's 22-0 burst with a breakaway layup that gave the Cardinal a 62-27 lead with 14:24 remaining in the game.

NOTES: Tonight marked Stanford's first appearance in Santa Barbara since Nov. 24, 1984. The Cardinal has won nine of the 10 games played between the two schools ...
