Men's Tennis Upends No. 27 Georgia Tech 4-3

TEMPE, Ariz. - Rallying off four singles wins after dropping the doubles point, the Arizona State Men's Tennis team stepped up to defeat the No. 27 Georgia Tech Yellowjackets 4-3 Saturday afternoon at ASU's Whiteman Tennis Center. The Sun Devils improve to a perfect 6-0 on the year.


The Sun Devils were unable to get anything rolling in doubles as they Yellowjackets swept doubles from the Devils to jump out 1-0.


ASU came alive in singles with Wes Miller leading the way as he took down Eric Molnar 6-4, 6-2 while Nick Hegarty finished off Jordan DeLass in straight sets 6-2, 6-4. T.J. Bellama came in next, topping Luke Rassow-Kanter 6-4, 6-4.


Matt Brooklyn sealed it for the Devils as he stepped up in the No. 2 spot to defeat Jose Muguruza as he took the first set 7-6(4) before dropping the second set only to battle back in the third and take it 7-6(5).


The Sun Devils are now a perfect 6-0 as they have next weekend off before hitting the road to take on Pac-10 foes Stanford and Cal in California February 23 and 24.
