USC Adds Laura Janke To Women's Soccer Staff
Feb. 13, 2007
USC women's soccer head coach Ali Khosroshahin has completed his staff for the upcoming 2007 season, announcing the addition of assistant coach Laura Janke to the Trojan sidelines. Janke was a graduate assistant with Khosroshahin at Cal State Fullerton, where she also was a standout goalkeeper during her playing career from 2000-03.
'I'm extremely excited to have Laura on our staff,' Khosroshahin said. 'I've had the pleasure of coaching her and working with her since 2000. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our coaching staff, and I feel she can really help our team in this transition to a new staff.'
Janke's responsibilities at Troy will largely involve working with the goalkeepers and the defense -- an aspect of the game with which she has a considerable amount of experience. As a player at Cal State Fullerton, Janke was a four-year letterwinner and a two-time All-Big West Conference selection. She holds school career records in goalkeeper victories (24), saves (234), shutouts (13) and minutes played (4,513) and set the Titans' single-season shutouts record with six in her senior year. As a sophomore, she notched 99 saves to stand No. 2 all-time in single-season saves at CSF.
