Day One Results From Women's 2007 Pac-10 Conference Swimming Championships

ArizonaStateUniversity's women's swimming team began the 2007 Pacific-10 Conference Championships in Long Beach, Calif. Wednesday, started the four-day event with competition in the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays.

 

Overall, the Sun Devils scored 54 points, highlighted by a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay.

 

The relay consisted of senior Carissa Abe, junior Sara McDaniel, junior Caitlin Andrew and sophomore Jen Beckberger and completed the event in 1:40.08, just .98 seconds behind the second place relay from the University of California.

 

ASU's top 800 freestyle relay was unfortunately disqualified from action as the first day of Pac-10 Championship action came to a close.

 

The 2007 Pac-10 Championships will continue Thursday with the preliminary and final rounds of the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 free style and 200 freestyle relay.
