Golfers Finish 10th at Regional Challenge

The fifth-ranked UCLA women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Regional Challenge at the Palos Verdes Golf Club on Wednesday.
The Bruins posted a team score of 299 (+15) eight shots better than their second round total and were 69-over par at 921. Pepperdine won the event with a three-round total of 882 (+30), followed by Arizona State at 891 (+39) and Florida at 901 (+49). Oklahoma State placed fourth at 904 (+52) and Arizona was fifth at 907 (+55).
Individually for the Bruins, senior Hannah Jun tied for eighth place at 221 (+8) after posting a final round score of 73 (+2). Sophomore Tiffany Joh climbed 20 spots after firing a final round 70 (-1) to tie for 34th place at 231 (+18). Freshman Sydnee Michaels tied for 41st at 235 (+22) after signing for a 77 (+6). Junior Maiya Tanaka tied for 51st at 238 (+25) following a score of 80 (+9) on Wednesday. Sophomore Ryann O'Toole carded a 79 (+8) and placed 63rd with a 54-hole total of 242 (+29).
Playing as an individual, freshman Lalita Boonnoppornkul placed 71st with a three-round total of 248 (+35) following a round of 83 (+12).
