Zizzo Called Up To U.S. Under-23 National Team

Sophomore midfielder Sal Zizzo has been called up to U.S. Under-23 National Team for its trip to Japan. After his performance with the Bruins against the Under-23s in a scrimmage on Monday, Zizzo was invited to join the U.S. team.
The U.S. will face the Japan U-22 Men's National Team on Feb. 21 and JFL team Rosso Kumamoto on Feb. 23. Both matches will take place at 7 pm local time (2 am PT).
Also making the trip with the U-23s is former Bruin Patrick Ianni, who scored a goal in the team's 2-0 scrimmage victory over Chivas USA on Thursday.
Zizzo departed with the U.S. team on Friday morning and missed the Bruins' scrimmage with the Los Angeles Galaxy at The Home Depot Center. The Galaxy won by a score of 3-0, receiving first half goals from Landon Donovan on a penalty kick and Alan Gordon on a header. Josh Tudela scored for the Galaxy in the second half. The Galaxy played their first team for the first 60 minutes of the game.

UCLA has three more spring games on its schedule - Mar. 10 vs. Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside at Fullerton and Apr. 13 vs. the Galaxy at The Home Depot Center.
