The Conference responded after a shaky first week of play by combining for a record of 38-5 in week two ... Every Conference team is riding at least a two-game winning streak, and five teams have won at least five straight led by ARIZONA STATE which has not tasted defeat in 13 outings. OREGON (9), STANFORD and WASHINGTON (7), and ARIZONA (5) also have won at least their past five ... Arizona State remain perfect at 13-0, but must travel outside Tempe for the first time this season as they take the field at the Palm Springs Classic ... CALIFORNIA, OREGON STATE, UCLA, and Washington will join the Sun Devils in Palm Springs, Calif. for the tourney ... Oregon entered the current Softball Top-25 at No. 25 this week, meaning all eight Pac-10 squads are now ranked ... ASU and Arizona rank third and fourth, respectively, followed by No. 7 Oregon State, No. 8 Stanford, No. 14 UCLA, No. 15 Washington, and the 25th-ranked Ducks rounding things out.

ARIZONA (9-2): The Wildcats went 5-0 last week at their own Worth Wildcat Tournament ... junior Taryne Mowatt picked up three victories, and may want to push for more games against Texas Tech down the road, as Mowatt no-hit the Red Raiders on Friday and then one-hit them in a rematch on Sunday ... it was the third no-hitter of Mowatt's career ... Mowatt's .148 opposing batting average is good for second in the Pac-10 ... The Wildcats are excelling at the little things as they currently have the highest fielding percentage in the league (.983) and are a league-best 30-of-31 on stolen base attempts led by Caitlin Lowe's 12-of-12 thievery ... sophomore Jenae Leles had a pair of game-winning hits last week, breaking a scoreless tie with Temple on Friday with a home run and driving in the only run win UA's 1-0 win over Texas Tech later that night.

ARIZONA STATE (13-0): The Sun Devils continue to win in a variety of ways, run-ruling two opponents and winning two one-run affairs last week as they went 5-0 overall ... Arizona State's 13 wins are the most of any team in the Top-25 ... Kaitlin Cochran continues to be a nearly impossible out for opposing pitchers, as the sophomore hit .625 last week with three doubles, a home run and nine RBIs for a slugging percentage of 1.125. Cochran's season average rose to .537, one point off the league lead ... Cochran is leading the league in hits (22), on-base percentage (.578), RBI (18), and total bases (38) ... junior outfielder Jackie Vasquez is fifth in the league in batting with a .471 average ... freshman pitcher Megan Elliott recorded her first career double-digit strikeout game on Friday when she K'd 11 Illinois State hitters in a five inning when.

CALIFORNIA (6-4): After struggling on offense over their first three games of the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic, the Golden Bear bats awoke from hibernation on Sunday and scored 12 and 13 runs in five inning wins over Florida International and Utah State, respectively ... Cal's three-game losing streak last week was its first since the 2004 season ... frehsman Marissa Drewrey picked up her first career win against the Aggies on Friday, pitching a scoreless final three innings ... Cal hurlers have surrendered only three home runs through 10 games.

OREGON (9-1): The Ducks are rolling with a nine-game winning streak coming out of the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic ... only loss came in their season-opener by one run to Florida, now ranked 19th ... senior Ann Marie Topps is arguably the Conference most-improved player thus far, as her Pac-10 leading five home runs already equals her total for her entire career prior to this season. Last season Topps slugged only .152, this season she has eclipsed that mark seven times over, as her current slugging percentage of 1.080 leads the Conference. Topps went 5-for-12 with 1 2B, and 3 HR last week (1.231 SLG%) ... Oregon pitchers combined for shutouts in four of their five games last week ... junior Alicia Cook ran her string of innings without allowing an earned run to 28.0. She allowed only two runners as far as third base in 19.0 innings over the weekend. Cook's 0.71 ERA is second in the Pac-10.

OREGON STATE (6-2): Beavers went 4-1 at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic last weekend ... only loss was a nine-inning 2-1 setback vs. BYU ... senior Ta'Tyana McElroy had her first double-digit strikeout effort of the season with 10 against Cal State Northridge on Saturday in OSU's 6-1 win ... Natalie Johnson continues to have a breakout senior season. Her 13 hits are just three shy of her season-high 16 set back in 2004 as a freshman. Johnson was just 3-for-20 (.150) last season but has excelled in a starting role this year, hitting .520 (13-for-25), third best in the Conference ... 2006 first team All-Pac-10 selection Cambria Miranda leads the Beavers with two home runs and eight runs batted in, while hitting .375 ... the Beaver pitching staff leads the Pac-10 with only two home runs allowed.

STANFORD (9-2): The Cardinal rose back into the Softball Top-10 today (No. 8) after going 6-0 last week and sweeping their own Stanford Invitational ... Stanford outscored its opposition 41-8 last week ... sophomore pitcher Missy Penna picked up four wins on the week including two shutouts. Penna gave up just three runs in 24.2 innings pitched and struk out 30 batters. Her .145 opposing batting average is tops in the Pac-10 ... freshman outfielder Alissa Haber is currently on a nine-game hitting streak during which she has hit 14-of-29 (.483) ... The Cardinal's ERA this season is 1.60 while their opponents' ERA is 6.29 ... Three Stanford starters are currently batting over .400: Haber (.429), Maddy Coon (.419), and Jackie Rinehart (.400).

UCLA (7-4): UCLA had seven home runs in Sunday's win over Wright State, a new school record for a single game ... Both Megan Langenfeld and Kaila Shull had two home runs in that game, the 45th and 46th times in program history that that feat has been accomplished. They are the 19th and 20th players in Bruin history to have at least one career 2-home run game ... Langenfeld had two doubles in the first inning on Friday vs. Colorado State and two doubles on Saturday vs. UNLV. Those are the 47th and 48th two-double games in UCLA history ... Shull, a freshman, is tied for the Conference lead with five home runs and the Bruins are out to a sizeable lead in homers with 18, five more than any other Pac-10 squad ... senior Lisa Dodd was named Pac-10 Player of th Week after going 9-for-18 with three home runs and 12 RBI. She also was Pitcher of the Week in 2005, becoming the first Bruin since Tanya Harding in 1995 to win both awards.

WASHINGTON (8-1): Sophomore Marnie Koziol currently leads the Pac-10 batting race with a .538 average (14-for-26). Koziol hit .625 (10-for-16) in UW's five game sweep at the USF Wilson Tournament in Tampa, Fla. last week ... the Huskies picked up their first win over a ranked opponent this season, defeated 24th-ranked South Florida on Sunday, 1-0 ... in the win sophomore Danielle Lawrie set a program record with 20 strikeouts in seven innings, breaking her own mark of 19 set last season ... Lawrie earned a win in all four appearances and had three double-digit strikeout games while allowing just one run in 21.0 IP to earn Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week honors ... Lawrie leads the Conference with 80 strikeouts in 36.0 innings, an average of 15+ K's per seven innings.
