Golden Bears Fall Short in the 200 Medley Relay at Pac-10s

BERKELEY - After pulling out a victory in the dual meet against Stanford, the California Golden Bears could not pass Stanford in the 200 medley relay at the 2007 Pac-10 Championships, on Wednesday, in Federal Way, Wash.

The squad of David Russell, Richard Hunter, Jernej Godec and William Copeland was clocked at 1:26.73, just short of Stanford's winning time of 1:26.07.

Also on Wednesday, the Bears placed third in the 800 free relay. Nathan Adrian led off for the Bears, Daniel Lysaught followed, as Dominik Meichtry swam the third leg and Louis Vayo anchored the Bears. The team finished at 6:23.51. Arizona won the race with their time of 6:20.08.

Cal continues action Thursday at the Pac-10 Championships. The Bears will compete in 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free and 200 free relay. The meet is being held at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
