No. 15 Huskies Close Out Seven Match Homestand

THIS WEEK: The Washington men's tennis team (7-1) wrap up a seven match home stand with a pair of non-conference matches against ranked foes. The Huskies will take on No. 75 Oregon (6-3) on Friday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m. and No. 50 San Diego State (2-3) on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 12 p.m. Results of both matches, plus live video and scoring will be available on GoHuskies.com. Admission to the match is free and complimentary pizza and soft drinks will be available between the doubles and singles matches. Fans can also redeem free parking at the Kiosk outside the main Husky Stadium parking entrance (more info below).
SCOUTING OREGON: The Huskies and Oregon will meet for the 119th time all-time, with Washington leading the all-time series 111-6-1. Oregon is ranked No. 75 in this week's poll. The Ducks are a young squad with just two upperclassmen on the roster. They have six freshmen on the team, three sophomores and two seniors. The Ducks trotted out a starting singles lineup made up of four freshmen and two sophomores in their last match against Santa Clara. Friday's match is considered a non-conference match while the April 21 rematch between the two squads in Eugene, Ore. counting towards the Pac-10 standings.
SCOUTING SAN DIEGO STATE: Washington holds a slim 12-10 all-time advantage over the 50th-ranked San Diego State Aztecs. The Huskies own a 4-1 advantage over the Aztecs since 1996 and have won three straight in the series. The Aztecs (2-3) have hit the skids lately having lost three straight, but the competition certainly has not been soft. San Diego State was shutout by then-No. 43 Southern California, which finds itself at No. 13, dropped a tight 4-3 decision to 17th-ranked Boise State and fell to No. 10 Pepperdine, 5-2. Saturday's match vs. Oregon will the Aztecs' first in two weeks. Senior Markus Dickhardt has been the Aztecs leader, going 3-1 at the No. 2 singles spot in dual meets.
FREE PARKING FOR TENNIS FANS: Thanks to a partnership with Cingular Wireless, Husky fans attending men's and women's home tennis matches will be able to park for FREE. Fans wishing to take advantage of the free parking will need to go to the parking kiosk located just west of Husky Stadium and tell the attendant that they are `here for Husky tennis.' Fans will be given a permit that will allow them to park in E-10 or E-11.
