Stanford Men In Second At Puerto Rico Classic

Rio Mar, Puerto Rico - Lead by tournament leader Joseph Bramlett, the second-ranked Stanford men's golf team shot a 279 today at the Puerto Rico Classic to move into second place overall with a two-day total of 16-under par

560 (281-279) on Monday. Georgia leads the field with a 556 (279-277). Rounding out the top five teams are East Tennessee State (563), Alabama (567) and Clemson (567).

The Cardinal carded a nine-under 279 today at the par-72, 6,945-yard River Course at the Rio Mar Golf Club to pull within four strokes of touranment leader Georgia.

Freshman Joseph Bramlett turned in a five-under par 67 today to vault into a tie for first place on the individual leaderboard. Bramlett's two-round total of 136 (69-67) ties him with Georgia's Brendon Todd (136). Senior Matt Savage continued his solid play for the Cardinal, carding a two-under 70 today for a 138 (68-70). Savage is currently tied for third overall. Teammate Dodge Kemmer is tied for 27th with a 144 (71-73) while senior Zack Miller moved up into a tied for 44th after firing a three-under par 69 today (78-69--147). Rounding out the Stanford competitors is Rob Grube who is tied for 57th (73-76--149).

The Puerto Rico Classic will conclude on Tuesday.
