Women's Golf Completes First Two Rounds At Wildcat Invitational

TUCSON, ARIZ. - The Washington women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational in 14th place, Monday, finishing the day at 52-over 620. The tournament is being held at the Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

Arizona State leads the 15-team field, which includes 12 teams ranked in the latest Golfweek Top-25, with a 9-over 577 through the opening 36 holes. Duke finished the day in second (20-over 588), with USC in third (22-over 590). Duke's Amanda Blumenhest leads the individual field at 3-under 139 (70-69).

True freshman Christina Yoon led the Huskies' in their spring season debut, carding identical rounds of 5-over 76 in the first two rounds. Yoon is tied for 33rd in the individual race at 10-over 152 overall. Also consistent was senior Amber Prange, who finished two strokes behind Yoon at 12-over 154 (6-over 77 in both rounds).

True freshman Molly Aronsson wasn't able to continue her hot start after carding the Huskies' best round of the tournament over the opening 18 holes. She shot a 2-over 73 in the first round before a disappointing 12-over 83 in the second round. Aronsson enters the final round tied for 50th at 14-over 156 overall.

Redshirt-freshman Molly Boyle endured a similar fate as Aronsson, shooting a 4-over 75 in the first round before carding a 12-over 83 in the second round. Boyle is two strokes behind Aronsson - tied for 56th at 16-over 158. Junior Kim Shin finished the day tied for 78th at 30-over 172 (88-84-172).

The final round of the Arizona Wildcat Invitational will tee off Tuesday at 8 a.m MST/7 a.m. PST.
